Maison Jansen is an interior design house founded in 1880 by Jean-Henri Jansen. In the early days, Maison Jansen had no furniture manufacturing facilities, reusing furniture that had already been made. The company became one of Europe’s biggest buyers of antiques. Later, in the 1890s, Jansen set up an antiques gallery to sell its wares. In the 1940s, the company set up its own workshops in Paris. Jansen has worked with prestigious clients such as Queen Elizabeth II, Valérie Giscard d’Estaing, the White House under John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the royal families of Belgium and Iran, and institutions such as the Opéra Garnier, the Assemblé Nationale and the Hôtel Ritz.
