Gaetano Sciolari (1927-1994) was an Italian designer and was the first Italian lamps’ manufacturer in the United States, as the biggest importer. He was the founder and the first president of the profesional Italian association of lighting equipments manufacturers, still active today.
All Sciolari creations mixed a formal avant-garde research, with geometrical inspirations but always elegant and sophisticated, with a preference of the glass, brass and chromes work.
This important designer for the lighting history has been massively rediscovered recently and was very desired by collectors !
