Gaetano Sciolari (1927-1994) was an Italian designer who was the first Italian lamp manufacturer in the United States, as well as the largest importer. He was the founder and first president of the Italian professional association of lighting manufacturers, which is still very active today. All of Sciolari’s creations combine avant-garde formal research, with geometric inspirations but always elegant and sophisticated, with a preference for working with glass, brass and chrome. This important designer in the history of lighting was recently massively rediscovered and is highly sought after by collectors!
