“Accolay” conveys to a community of potters settled in the village named Accolay, (Yonne), in Bourgogne (France), active between 1945 and 1983, and formed by four former students of the polish ceramist Alexandre Kostanda. Accolay Production is characterized by a intense creativity with various shapes and vivid colors and the using of numerous ceramic technics such as painted enamels with a luster glaze, gilt enameling, sacrificed slip etc. The production are always signed with only one signature for the whole community, “Accolay”.

The community was quite famous because of their occupation of gas stations located near Parisian tourist’s migration tracks, in where they organized permanent places of exhibitions.
