Transition style sofa in gilt wood and tapestry, circa 1880

Transition style sofa in gilt wood standing on four cabriole legs ending in scroll with a decor of acanthus leaves. Slightly bulged apron adorned with an interlacing frieze. Arm supports slightly behind the leg line adorned with acanthus leaves, ribbonned laurel frieze. Scalloped flat back adorned with an interlacing frieze, acanthus leaves and crown of flowers in its cresting.
Trim covered with a beige background mechanical tapestry with motif of flowers in large cartouches.
