Maison Jaru, in the taste of.

Stylized black porcelain antelope bust with gilt highlights.
This shape evocates the Ciwara masks, works of the bamana art from the Niger valley, worn during dances linked with agriculture and fertility. Well-known symbols of African art, these antelope masks influenced a bunch of artists since the 19th century.

Work from the 20th century, in the taste of Maison Jaru, founded in 1950 by Jack and Ruth Hirsh.
