Robert Charroy is a French designer active during the post-war period. He succeeds Jacques Hitier as furniture designer at Mobilor. In the early 1950s, he designed furniture with a tubular structure and with warm materials such as wood, fabric but also synthetic coatings such as vinyl or formica.

Mobilor is a manufacturer specializing in furniture for institutions. He was particularly active after the war with his designers Jacques Hitier then Robert Charroy, offering, among other things, furniture with a tubular structure for schools and university residences such as that of Antony. Mobilor was bought in 1961 by the company Guitel-Etienne to take the name of Guitel Etienne Mobilor (then Guitel).
