Percival Lafer, attributed to.

Two seaters sofa MP-211 in slightly orange brown leather standing on four rectangular legs with curved angles in Rio rosewood. One-piece seat and back composed by leather parts linked with each others by lattices, hung to legs by lattices and the whole is put in a hull.

Work realized in the 1970’s.

Some leather restorations.

Percival Lafer (1936) is an Brazilian architect designer, graduated from the Mackenzie University in Sao Paulo. He led the “Lafer” furniture company of his father with his two brothers that limited his architect work.
He created the MP logo (de Moveis Patenteados, *Patented furniture) as the brand MP Lafer. The MP-1 armchair is created in 1961 and many iconic furniture that marked the Brazilian design history are created.
His first ambition is to create modern furniture, large-scale produced with affordable prices. He is particularly interested by fabrication problems, productive strategies, ressources optimization but also the final exeprience of the customer. His furniture is often composed by Brazilian woods, leathers and steel structures, playing on the combined aspect without forgetting comfort !
