Dining table. Rectangular top in white melamine with beech edges standing on two cylinder-shaped legs in black lacquered metal and beech. Six chairs in beech and exotic wood molded like plywood. Rounded backrest. The chairs can be placed on the table top thanks to a metal part under the seat which fits into the openwork parts of the table top.

Model designed for the cafeteria of the IBM headquarters in Montpellier.

Marc Held (1932-) is a French architect, designer and photographer. In 1965, he created the architecture and design office Archiform, as well as a shop, L’Échoppe, located at 51 rue de Seine in Paris, in which he exhibited and sold his own creations, as well as the best of Scandinavian design. , Italian and German. It is in this shop that he presents his modular library, reissued since 2015 by Sentou. He is mainly known for having designed, in 1965, the famous Primo Culbuto armchair, a rocking armchair made up of a weighted fiberglass and molded polyester shell. From 1967, the publisher Knoll publishes this model with the name Culbuto. In the 1970s, he also created a line of furniture produced by Prisunic. In 1984, at the request of the President of the Republic, François Mitterand, he worked on the development of the living-dining room of the private apartments of the Elysée. From 1966, he collaborated in the birth of the Avoriaz winter sports resort. It was from 1983 that he worked with IBM, succeeding Marcel Breuer; he built the IBM building in Montpellier and that year designed the dining room set that we are presenting.
