Aldo Tura (1909-1963) was an Italian designer who began to work in the 1930’s in a manufacture of tables, cupboards and lamps. He created in 1939 his own workshop by creating minimalist furniture and keeping a link with decorative arts tradition. He used a lot the lacquered or colored parchment on his wood furniture. In the 1950’s, he turned to hand-painted motifs figuring landscapes, architecture or figurative scenes reminding 19th century paintings.
During his life, Aldo Tura never followed the industrial production trend and stayed in a high quality manufacturer spirit, classical and modern, with a unique and timeless design.
Today the “Aldo Tura” company produce furniture in Italy, in the designer tradition.
