Pair of Delftware plates, 18th century

880,00

Ewer Factory, author.

Pair of blue and white Delftware plates imitating Chinese porcelains. Blue decoration on a white background underlined with a trek, representing a tree surrounded by flowers in vases. Lambrequins and stylized plants friezes inside, typical of this Deutsch production.

Each plate is signed on the back with the mark LPKan, which refers to the production of De (Porceleyne) Lampetkan Manufactory, or the “Ewer” factory.
Abraham Davidtsz. Van Oosterhouck founds this factory in 1609, which is named De Lampetkan by his successors. This factory’s production is identified until 1811.
Taking into account different dictionaries of Delftware marks and monograms, this pair of plates can be dated from the 18th century, before the Brouwer family manages the Ewer factory, so before 1755.
