Max Ingrand (1908-1969) is a French master glassmaker and decorator, considered as one of the most famous of the 20th century. After studying at the national School of Decorative Arts, he joined, in 1927, the workshop of Jacques Gruber (1870-1936) and began his activity of glassmaker-decorator. He was the initiator of several stained glass projects, notably in the Sainte-Agnès Church of Maisons-Alfort. His career was cut off by the WWII: during all the five years of the conflict, he remained as prisoner in a German camp. But, as soon as he came back to France, we conducted several projects of reconstruction as such as the one of church of Yvetot. Thanks to this project, he would be recognized by the French historic monuments association and lead the reconstruction of the stained glass panels of the cathedral of Rouen and Strasburg, among others. He has such a fame that he received orders from the United States of America and Canada. Besides his activity in the glassmaking filed, he also became the artistic director of the Italian company Fontana-Arte for which he created numerous models of lightings.
