DanHôo (1966) is a French artist of Chinese origin who moved to Paris in 1983, where he rubbed shoulders with many of the artists he later drew inspiration from: Olivier Debré, Erro, Combas, Antonio Segui and others. Inspired by the motifs of Chinese calligraphy, he places ideograms on the white canvas and then works with large, flowing flat areas of color, creating a painting with relief and craquelures, much inspired by Jackson Pollock’s Dripping and All Over. He aims to convey his emotions through his art, creating a world oscillating between magic and energy, with different depths and ranges of light for each of his canvases.
