Brilliant sculptor and furniture maker, he started with Fourdinois to the Exhibition of French industry products in 1844 where they obtained a silver medal, and in 1849.

At the 1855 Universal Exhibition, his talent is confirmed with sending a gun cabinet, Renaissance style, with two bodies, the top for ice, with the middle panel decorated with a large medallion and rich in two figures, and a toilet carved and gilded, decorated with mirrors and Sèvres porcelain, which were acquired by the Emperor.
